Westover Hills Baptist Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant III to perform blood collection, specimen receipt, and distribution of laboratory specimens. You will run CLIA waived tests and assist pathologists and histology staff as needed.

Supervisory duties may be assigned in the course of your introductory period. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, maintaining specimen integrity, data entry, and training junior staff.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required with preferred formal phlebotomy training.
• Associates degree in laboratory/medical field preferred.
• Three years of lab experience or completion of a phlebotomy program.
• Certification in phlebotomy as required by state law.

Responsabilités

• Performs venous and capillary phlebotomy with proper labeling.
• Maintains specimen integrity and tracking in LIS.
• Processes blood and body fluids for analyses at BHS or reference labs.
• Tests specimens under supervision and reports results promptly.
• Inputs data into the laboratory computer system and documents procedures.
• Assists with stocking and inventory of lab supplies.
• Aids training of phlebotomists or laboratory students.
