Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in laboratory/medical field preferred.
• Three years of laboratory experience or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program required.
• Phlebotomy certification as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous and capillary phlebotomy.
• Maintains specimen integrity and proper labeling.
• Processes blood and body fluids for analyses.
• Tests specimens under supervision per policy.
• Reports results accurately and promptly and flags abnormal results.
• Inputs data into laboratory computer system.
• Performs basic clerical tasks and stocking of supplies.
• Assists in training phlebotomists or students.
