Job summary

Westover Hills Baptist Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II - Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen handling, and basic lab tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting in San Antonio, TX. You will support microbiology processing and ensure accurate labeling and data entry in the laboratory information system.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with phlebotomy training and/or 1 year of clinical lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of phlebotomy training program preferred.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience or completion of formal phlebotomy training.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous and capillary phlebotomy.
• Label tubes and ensure specimen integrity and proper reception.
• Process and prepare specimens for analysis and lab information systems.
• Assist in microbiology processing and culture plating as assigned.
• Operate basic lab equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
