Job summary

The University of Miami Health System's UHealth Laboratories Department is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant 2 to support routine laboratory operations and assist technical staff. You will identify, accession and transport patient specimens, perform basic processing, maintain logs, and generate reports while upholding confidentiality and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time role requires flexibility to work evenings, nights or weekends and offers salary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Attention to detail in completing assignments.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, handles, and accession patient samples.
• Transports specimens and communicates test results timely.
• Maintains required laboratory files and logs system.
• Performs specimen processing (centrifugation, aliquoting, volume measurement).
• Maintains inventory levels per protocol.
• Participates in performance improvement processes.
• Generates and forwards patient reports to proper departments/physicians.
• Adheres to policies and safeguards University assets.
