Job summary

AdventHealth in Tavares, Florida is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the laboratory team. You will perform blood collection, processing and specimen handling to support accurate patient testing.

The role requires phlebotomy skills, familiarity with lab information systems, and adherence to safety guidelines. Day shifts, full-time hours, with opportunities for training and career development within the AdventHealth Lab network.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training or certification preferred.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare or AdventHealth Lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing and related quality control.
• Handle clerical duties and answer inquiries to support department operations.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary methods as needed.
• Process, label, and transport specimens to testing areas per protocol.
• Operate and maintain preanalytical instruments; report results accurately.
• Assist in training new staff and students as assigned.
• Follow PPE, safety policies, and Infection Control guidelines.
