Job summary

Springfield Clinic seeks a Laboratory Assistant 2 to support clinical operations across locations. You will draw blood, process specimens, enter orders in the lab computer, log results, perform glucose tolerances, EKGs and provide limited waived testing under supervision.

Responsibilities include patient safety, specimen collection, documenting results, assisting with reception tasks, and traveling to multiple sites as needed; you will uphold HIPAA standards and Springfield Clinic policies while

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• After three months, capable of performing as a lab assistant.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood, urine, nasal wash, throat and MRSA specimens and perform EKGs and waived tests.
• Enter orders into the laboratory computer.
• Process specimens according to lab procedures and log results.
• Set up urine and throat cultures as assigned.
• Provide patient instructions for at-home collections and complete paper work.
