Job summary

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas Inc. is looking for a Lab Assistant I to join the care team and deliver accurate laboratory services with a focus on patient care.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, reporting, scheduling, and basic point-of-care testing. The role requires strong customer service, HIPAA compliance, and ability to maintain equipment and inventory in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• MOAB Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Experience in a clinic or healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collection per safety standards.
• Prepare patients and label specimens accurately.
• Process, store, and transport specimens per requirements.
• Perform point-of-care and waived testing with quality controls.
• Maintain instrument equipment and troubleshooting.
• Perform EKGs according to procedures.
• Enter orders and results, monitor for timely reporting.
• Conduct NON-DOT urine drug screenings with proper chain of custody.
• Support clinic operations by managing patient flow and inventory.
