Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health in Prosser, WA is seeking a Lab Assistant II under the direction of Laboratory Manager to perform clerical functions, specimen collection, processing, and EKG procedures. The role supports phlebotomists and conducts waived testing and Quality Control.

Requirements include a high school diploma/GED, completion of a phlebotomy or medical assistant course, or 6 months lab experience with Health Care Assistant certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of phlebotomy course or accredited medical assistant course; or
• 6 months laboratory experience and Health Care Assistant certification.
• Training in proper phlebotomy techniques required.
• Training/experience in clinical laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical functions, specimen collection, processing, and EKG procedures under Laboratory Manager guidance.
• Performs duties of phlebotomist and waived testing with Quality Control.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of Laboratory Manager, performs clerical functions, specimen collection, specimen processing, and EKG procedures. Lab Assistant II performs the duties of a Phlebotomists and performs waived testing and Quality Control.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course or an accredited medical assistant course; or
• 6 months laboratory experience and certification as a Health Care Assistant.
• Training in proper phlebotomy techniques required.
• Training and/or experience in clinical laboratory preferred.

Licensure & Certifications Requirements

• Requires Washington State DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential within 6 months of hire.
• Certification in phlebotomy skills preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $19.72-$29.75
• Incentive Compensation: Eligible for up to 5% of annual salary through the incentive program
