Position Details

Location: Tampa, FL

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:00PM - 12:30AM

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine and limited non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
2. Receive, collect, label, and prepare tissue specimens.
3. Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
4. Perform slide cover slipping and H&E staining, manually or automated.
5. Prepare reagents and process paperwork related to accessioning and reporting.
6. Manage inventory, requisition supplies, and maintain laboratory area.
7. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality policies, including use of PPE.
8. Assist technical staff with limited technical functions as trained.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of histopathology or laboratory experience.
• Experience handling PHI and using LIS.
• Preferred 3 years of histopathology experience supporting pathologists.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college courses preferred.
• Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds with assistance, stand for long periods, and use laboratory instruments.
• Knowledge of operating basic instrumentation.
• Skills include attention to detail, independence, multitasking, effective communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and LIS.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $17.20+ per hour, with potential shift differentials of 10% (second shift) and 15% (third shift).
