Job summary

Central Florida Health Care, Inc. is seeking a Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, and basic lab operations in collaboration with nursing and provider staff.

The role includes processing test results, quality control, and ensuring proper handling and transport of specimens. The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant with phlebotomy training or at least two years of phlebotomy experience, an active BLS certification, and strong computer and organizational skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Medical Assistant with phlebotomy training or 2+ years phlebotomy experience.
• Active BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain proficient knowledge of CFHC’s programs’ philosophies, goals and objectives. Comply with all policies and procedures as well as state and federal guidelines.
• Understand exposure control requirements and utilize Universal Precautions.
• Provide offhours coverage as needed.
• Attend Laboratory staff meetings.
• Assist with Quality Control logs and documentation.
• Perform in-house testing expediently (including EKGs) and relay results to Nursing staff for Provider review.
• Label specimens and complete lab requisitions accurately.
