Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a lab phlebotomist role.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and CLIA waived lab tests; collects and tests patient specimens with proper labeling.
• Prepares samples for laboratory testing, analysis, or microscopy.
• Sets up laboratory equipment.
• Maintains and stocks lab.
• Calculates medical diagnostic test results.
• Follows infectious materials procedures and waste disposal policies.
• Provides patient education as requested.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follow-up system for lab results.
• Enters analysis into computer for accountability.
• Labels blood samples and maintains documentation records.
