Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a laboratory support professional to perform registration, screening, and order entry for specimens and to generate reports from the LIS. The role includes handling lab front office calls and ensuring timely receipt and delivery of specimens within the laboratory.

Responsibilities also include preparing specimens for analysis, loading automated instruments, and faxing HIPAA-compliant reports.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, or equivalent required.
• Ability to work as a team player with excellent customer services skills.
• Previous lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and perform medical necessity screening and order entry for specimens.
• Produce reports from the lab information system and route them as required.
• Handle phone calls in the laboratory front office.
• Receive and deliver specimens to laboratory departments in a timely manner.
• Prepare specimens for analysis and load automated instruments.
• Fax reports in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
