Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a laboratory registration technician for a night shift. The role involves registering specimens, screening medical necessity, and entering orders while ensuring accurate routing of reports.

You will handle front office calls, receive and deliver specimens, and prepare samples for analysis. Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and prior lab experience are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to work as a team player with excellent customer services skills.
• Previous lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle front office phone calls and coordinate specimen delivery.

Summary:
Performs registration, medical necessity screening, and order entry on specimens received in the laboratory. Produces reports from the lab information system and correctly routes as required. Handles phone calls received in the laboratory front office. Receives and delivers specimens to laboratory departments in a timely manner. Prepares specimens for analysis, loads automated instruments. Faxes reports as required in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:
High School Graduate, or equivalent required. Ability to work as a team player with excellent customer services skills. Previous lab experience preferred.

Work Shift Details:

Nights, Work hours 5pm to 1:30 am, with alternating weekend hours of 12:45 pm to 9:15 pm

The expected pay for this position is listed below:

$16.97 - $20.79
