Job summary

Piedmont Macon North is hiring a Phlebotomy Technician to join our clinical team. This role performs specimen collection, processing, and screening in compliance with CMS CLIA and Piedmont guidelines. You will collect venous blood samples and prepare specimens for analysis.

Entry is open with no prior experience required; one year in phlebotomy and EKG experience are preferred. The position supports a 4am–12:30pm schedule with rotating weekends and holidays, in a busy hospital setting in Macon,

Qualifications

• GED or higher is required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience performing EKGs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS CLIA and Piedmont policies.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens as required.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
