Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Veterinary Technician to provide animal care and medical assistance for laboratory animals. You will perform rounds, triage, treat and monitor basic clinical cases, and assist with collecting diagnostic samples.

You will also help with documenting patient treatments and maintaining animal records. The role requires familiarity with SOPs, basic veterinary procedures, and adherence to ethical guidelines; after hours and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred.
• Experience in laboratory animal or veterinary care 1–2 years required.
• LAT certification preferred.
• Ability to follow institutional SOPs with moderate supervision.
• Knowledge of basic vet procedures, sample collection and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Care for laboratory animals including feeding, watering, cleaning cages and maintaining living environments.
• Perform rounds, triage, treat and monitor basic clinical cases.
• Assist with collecting diagnostic and health surveillance samples.
• Maintain animal records and update the database.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and ethical guidelines.
• Familiar with IACUC protocols and humane endpoints.
