Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell General Medicine team in Boston seeks a dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to support primary outpatient care and preventative services. You will collaborate with veterinarians and specialty departments in a large referral facility, focusing on cases from wellness visits to dermatology and endocrine disorders.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, pre-appointment workups, training new staff, surgical support, phlebotomy, client education, and international travel

Qualifications

One year of veterinary technician/assistant experience preferred.
Must be a certified veterinary technician to be hired as a CVT or have equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures.
Perform history intake and pre-appointment paperwork.
Train new assistants/technicians and externs on exam room and pharmacy policies.
Assist with surgical and anesthetic planning and client education.
Collect samples and perform phlebotomy.
Maintain accurate medication records in the EMR system.
