Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an entry-level Animal Care support role in Horsham, PA. You will perform basic laboratory and record-keeping tasks and support the animal care group to ensure animal welfare and compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
• Experience: None
• Certification/Licensure: None
• Other: Must be detail-oriented and have general familiarity with lab procedures. Good verbal communication skills required. Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing for animal arrivals (cages, water lines, feed jars, cage tags).
• Assist in archiving non-study/facility data (log sheets, cage wash forms).
• Assist animal care staff with clerical duties (filing, copies).
• Prepare simple lab solutions (buffers, media, bleach, eye wash).
• Monitor and maintain inventory (PPE stations, Haz waste boxes).
• Operate basic lab equipment and perform routine maintenance.
