As an Lab Analyst II you will work with the Sr. Lab Analyst , and the department lead to receive training, use the QMS software to access and acknowledge training documents and work instructions. Provide some basic/intermediate training to other lab personnel on analytical methods and practices when required.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Follow standard procedures regarding sample preparation prior to instrumental analysis; this entails using rolling and cutting equipment, very accurate weighing of samples, hot plate acid digestion of samples, and accurate dilutions among other common laboratory procedures; attention to detail is a key requirement.
  • Perform tests and data recording for provided samples using the following techniques (not necessarily a complete listing): ICP-OES, Metallography, GDMS, Tensile Testing, IGA (LECO), Tap Density. Hardness Testing, SEM/EDX (and Image Analysis)
  • Handle and move bulk acids.
  • Proficient in the use of advanced Excel functions, LIMS (including maintenance of functions related to daily operations), SAP and other standard office software.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, technical school, or GED required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a two- or four-year degree (preferably in a STEM field).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant analytical experience required.
  • Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd Shift

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
