Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking an Accessioning Technician I to support the lab's specimen life cycle. You will sort incoming specimens and document accurately in the Laboratory Information Systems, working closely with the grossing team to prepare slide materials.

Responsibilities include verifying requisition data, logging patient and specimen details in LIS, preparing slides, and delivering materials to clinic sites. Benefits are provided as part of the overall package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Data entry or billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort incoming specimens from various clinics.
• Document incoming shipments and their contents, keeping records of any errors.
• Verify requisition information matches bottle information on the specimen.
• Log patient and specimen information in the LIS (ClearPath/Intellipath).
• Prepare slides and deliver them to the grossing team.
• Enter DIF immunofluorescence information into the Mayo Clinic Database when applicable.
• Sign off on emptied specimen bags.
• Provide couriers with materials to transport between lab and clinic sites.
