Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking an Accessioning Technician I to support the specimen life cycle in the lab. You will sort and document incoming specimens, verify requisition data, and ensure LIS entry for patient and specimen details.

You will work with the grossing team to prepare slide materials and may enter immunofluorescence data into a Mayo Clinic Database as applicable. Prolonged sitting or standing and lifting up to 20 lbs are expected. This role offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Prior experience with data entry or billing (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Sort incoming specimens from various clinics.
• Document incoming shipments and their contents, keeping records of any errors.
• Verify that requisition information matches the bottle information.
• Log patient and specimen details in the LIS (ClearPath/Intellipath).
• Prepare slides and deliver them to the grossing team.
• Enter DIF immunofluorescence data into Mayo Clinic Database when applicable.
• Sign off on emptied specimen bags.
• Provide couriers with materials to transport between lab and clinic sites.
