Job summary

Ethos Laboratories seeks a detail-oriented Lab Assistant to handle accessioning, data entry into the LIS, and preparation of specimens for testing in a high-throughput laboratory environment.

You will receive urine, oral fluid, plasma, and PCR specimens, verify labeling, print barcodes, pipette specimens, stock supplies, and ensure accuracy to meet KPIs while maintaining HIPAA-compliant practices and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year data entry experience required.
• Familiarity with drug names and HIPAA-protected information preferred.
• Experience with bodily fluids (urine, plasma, oral fluid, nasal swabs) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming specimens and ensure proper labeling.
• Enter patient data and test orders into the LIS.
• Pipette accessioned specimens into appropriate tubes for testing.
• Maintain stock and refill supplies for lab operations.
• Meet KPIs for speed and accuracy.
• Transport specimens to other departments as needed.
• Communicate issues with specimen processing to relevant teams.
• Maintain clean storage areas and equipment.
