Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of data entry experience.
• Familiarity with drug names and HIPAA-protected information.
• Experience with bodily fluids (urine, plasma, oral fluid).
• Attention to detail; ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log specimens into LIS.
• Verify specimen labeling and order matching.
• Enter patient data and test orders into LIS.
• Prepare specimens for testing and restock supplies.
• Print barcodes and label containers.
• Pipette specimens into appropriate test tubes.
• Meet KPIs for speed and accuracy.
• Transport specimens to testing departments.
• Document specimens not meeting criteria for testing.
• Dispose of specimens after retention date.
• Communicate with other departments about issues.
• Maintain storage bins and carts.
• Other duties as assigned.
