LA28 is seeking former Olympic/Paralympic athletes for the Olympian/Paralympian Athlete Fellowship Program: Winter 2027. It is a year‑long program with two six‑month rotations across LA28’s teams, starting Jan 2027 and Jul 2027.
Fellows will be evaluated through interviews and recruited from a diverse applicant pool. Participants gain work experience, expand networks and provide feedback throughout the program.
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

The LA28 Olympian/ParalympianAthleteFellowship Program is a year-long opportunity featuring two six-month rotations across LA28’s operational teams. Successful candidates will completeone rotation fromJanuary toJune2027and another from JulytoDecember 2027. Assignments will bedeterminedbased on interviews and theapplicantpool. Fellows will gain valuable work experience, expand their networks, and provide feedback throughout the program.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has supported 51 participants and graduates. These Athlete Fellows have represented 22 countries and competed in 30 sports, collectively earning 27 Olympic and Paralympic medals across 21 editions of the Games.
LA28’s work spans many teams,each focused on a differentaspectof planning and delivering the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games. FortheSummer 2026cohort,Fellowswill be placed in one participating Functional Area (FA)based on program needs, qualifications, and your ranked preferences. As part of theapplication, you will select your top 1–5Functional Areasfor consideration.Each FA offers different project work and may requirespecifictools, technical skills, or functionalexpertise.

Athlete Fellows can expect an hourly rate of $33.00 per hour and will be scheduled to work a 40-hour week. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
