Job summary

OxyChem in La Porte, TX, seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor – Millwrights at the La Porte VCM Plant. You will lead maintenance technicians, coordinate activities, and ensure plant reliability. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on mechanical expertise.

You will set priorities, manage work orders, oversee HVAC and refrigerant programs, and collaborate with Production and Technical teams to minimize downtime and improve asset performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2–3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environment, safety, and health priorities.
• Set maintenance priorities to minimize downtime and manage metrics (overtime, downtime, call-outs).
• Coordinate with Production, Technical, and Maintenance groups for efficient completion of activities.
• Assign jobs and supervise field technicians during daily work and outages.
• Lead and coach technicians to ensure work meets job plans.
• Manage backlog of work orders to maintain plant reliability.
• Evaluate material requisitions, work plans, and schedules.
• Track equipment repair progress to meet production schedule.
• Participate in design and implementation of equipment/process improvements and cost control.
• Oversee HVAC systems planning, scheduling, and contractor management.
• Manage refrigerant program as required.
