Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is hiring an Emergency Veterinarian to provide high‑level care in our fast-paced, open‑concept hospitals. You will manage emergencies, mentor teammates, and grow through VEG Education programs and CE opportunities.

You will work with a diverse team that values patient care, client communication, and continuous learning. This role offers significant growth and a chance to impact both pets and people.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Must live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Thrive in a team-oriented hospital environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-background team with strong odors.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and triage patients by phone.
• See patients immediately and manage a broad range of emergencies, including exotics.
• Perform physical exams, imaging, ultrasound, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies.
• Create diagnoses and therapeutic plans, and discuss options with clients.
• Perform surgeries, endoscopy, and other emergency procedures as needed.
