Based in Los Angeles, this full-time, hybrid role partners with editorial leadership to set strategy, nurture audience growth, and ensure rigorous, fair coverage. Strong LA knowledge and newsroom discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years editing in a professional newsroom.
• Impeccable news judgment with rigor, accuracy and fairness.
• Innate, relentless organizational skills for a small operation.
• Ability to make smart, strategic assignments with audience interests in mind.
• Improve stories for clarity, fairness, structure and style.
• Expert line-editing finesse and sparkling, zippy copy.
• Write sharp headlines and deliver a satisfying editorial experience.
• Fascination with Los Angeles.
• Curiosity about the local news landscape in LA and beyond.

Responsibilities
