National Mortgage Staffing seeks a Non-QM Underwriter in Los Angeles, CA to evaluate complex Non-QM loan applications, including Bank Statement, DSCR, and Asset Depletion products. You will underwrite, approve or deny based on guidelines and regulatory requirements, interfacing with loan officers and processors daily.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Non-QM underwriting experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and can work independently in an office-based role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience underwriting Non-QM loans.
• Strong knowledge of Bank Statement, DSCR, and Asset Depletion products.
• Experience underwriting Non-QM roles within the last 6 months.
• Deep understanding of underwriting guidelines, regulations, and compliance.
• Proven ability to handle a high volume of loan files with accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze loan files, including income docs and credit reports for Bank Statement, DSCR, and Asset Depletion loans.
• Underwrite and decide on loan applications per guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with loan officers, processors, and stakeholders to obtain documentation.
• Ensure files are complete, accurate, and compliant before final approval or denial.
• Stay current with industry regulations and best practices for Non-QM loans.
• Provide guidance to junior underwriters and team members as needed.
• Maintain high productivity and quality assurance while meeting deadlines.
