Job summary

Real TPO LLC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Senior Underwriter with expertise in Non-QM and Non-Agency loans to join our growing mortgage team. You will assess borrower creditworthiness, review complex income, assets, and documentation, and ensure adherence to investor and company guidelines.

The role requires hands-on underwriting, collaboration with sales and originators, and thorough use of AUS/LOS systems, with on-site work at our LA office. FHA/VA experience a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience underwriting Non-QM loans in the mortgage industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Experience with automated underwriting systems (AUS) and Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet browsers.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Non-QM and Non-Agency loans manually, review borrower credit files, assets, capacity, and property information to determine eligibility.
• Review loan applications, validate documentation, and assess borrower ability to repay.
• Utilize AUS/LOS to validate loan data and ensure accuracy of information.
