Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to serve as the primary people partner for its Southern California operations. Based in Los Angeles, this role covers Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Inland Empire, and special Southwest accounts, partnering with site leaders to align people practices with business priorities.

The HRBP will lead employee relations, workforce planning, and change-management initiatives, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years HR experience, including field-based HRBP work.
• Experience supporting multi-site field operations in California; union experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, CA, and local employment laws and compliance.
• Experience with HRIS and performance-management systems, preferably ADP Vantage.
• Willingness to travel across Southern California and onsite presence required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR partner to Southern California regional and site leaders.
• Maintain field-based HR presence across Los Angeles and Greater LA; cover OC, San Diego, Inland Empire.
• Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning across the region.
• Lead employee relations, investigations, and coordination with Legal and HR leadership.
• Coach managers on performance, attendance, actions, and policy application.
• Ensure compliance with wage-hour, leave, anti-harassment, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Payroll, Operations, and Legal on pay practices and audits.
• Support labor relations including interpretation of CBAs and grievances.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations on workforce plans and staffing.
