Job summary

Smith Chason College is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a trusted advisor to campus leadership and staff. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, and compliance across remote sites in Southern California and Phoenix areas.

The successful candidate will bring 5–7+ years of HR experience, a solid grounding in employment law (CA a must), and strong interpersonal skills to drive a positive workplace culture while traveling up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in HRBP/HR Generalist/Employee Relations.
• Ability to successfully work in a remote environment.
• Solid understanding of HR principles, employment law, and CA labor law.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence leaders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to campus leadership and employees on workplace issues and conflicts.
• Conduct investigations related to employee concerns and policy violations.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, performance improvement, and development plans.
• Promote a positive employee experience and drive engagement and accountability.
• Facilitate performance management, goal setting, and development planning.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
