Outokumpu Chrome Oy is seeking a certified Six Sigma Black Belt Engineer to join our Manufacturing Excellence team in Calvert, Alabama. The role focuses on improving processes, leading projects, and coaching Lean Six Sigma practices across the organization.

You will train teams, apply Six Sigma tools, and drive lean thinking to boost performance. Relocation assistance is provided and extensive benefits accompany this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar field.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is mandatory.
• 5+ years leading operational/manufacturing excellence projects and program management.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma methods and tools in manufacturing environments.
• Experience training and coaching Lean Six Sigma practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct improvement work within Manufacturing Excellence.
• Be the local expert on improvement tools used in Manufacturing Excellence.
• Follow up projects and improvement work within Manufacturing Excellence.

We are looking for a certified Six Sigma Black Belt Engineer to join our Manufacturing Excellence team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree. Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (mandatory)
• > 5 years of experience working with and leading operational excellence/manufacturing excellence, project management.
• Strong knowledge and experience in various aspects of operational excellence/manufacturing excellence e.g. Six Sigma method and tools
• Demonstrated experience and ability to train and coach Lean Six Sigma

Some of the activities you will be doing includes:

Individual accountabilities:

• Lead and conduct improvement work within Manufacturing Excellence
• Local expert on the various improvement tools used in Manufacturing Excellence
• Follow up projects and improvement work within Manufacturing Excellence
• Locally implement Outokumpu standard for Manufacturing Excellence
• Conduct training and coaching in the Manufacturing Excellence methods and improvement tools
• Development of the organization towards “lean” thinking.
• Participate in networks within Manufacturing Excellence globally
• Lead training and develop the competence of Green Belt Shared accountabilities
• Co-operation between local functions and global functions to achieve overall common KPI´s
• Implement Outokumpu vision and mission.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
• Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
• Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
• Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
• Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
• Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
• Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
