Job summary

General Dynamics - IT in Kuwait seeks a Generator rebuild and HVAC Technician to perform overhaul and sustainment on 3kW to 150kW generators and HVAC systems in shop and field environments.

You will troubleshoot AC/DC systems, electronic controls, and fabricate wiring harnesses, with duties spanning installation/removal, testing, and maintenance. Saudi/CENTCOM region travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engine rebuild and generator overhaul.
• Knowledge of generator parallel systems and switch gear.
• Experience brazing copper tubing and evacuating and recharging refrigerant.
• Citizenship: US citizenship required.
• Security clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 12 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, maintenance and sustainment on 3kW to 150kW, 50/60/400Hz generators, including installation/removal from fixed and mobile locations and repairing AC/DC systems and electronic controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chillers, and Environmental Control Units (ECUs).
• Maintain all types of commercial power generation equipment, including military spec generators and UPS.
• Operate a Load bank and dynometer during testing.
• Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
• Some work in a generator shop environment and some in field settings.
