Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Generator Rebuild and HVAC Technician to perform maintenance on military generators and HVAC systems in Chantilly, Virginia. The position involves troubleshooting, diagnostics, and providing training in a field environment. Candidates must have extensive experience with diesel engines, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Work includes both workshop and field duties, requiring US citizenship and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Extensive diesel engine rebuild and generator experience.
• Knowledge of generator parallel systems and switch gear.
• Experience with brazing copper tubing and evacuating and recharging refrigerant.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• US citizenship required.
• US passport must not expire for at least 2 years, valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and overhaul on 3kW to 150kW generators.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chillers, and Environmental Control Units.
• Maintain commercial power generation equipment and military-spec generators.
• Operate load bank and dynamometer during testing.
• Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
