Job summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to manage on-premises and cloud-based Kubernetes clusters as part of a Platform as a Service. You will work with senior engineers on a multidisciplinary team to support space launch telemetry analyses, AI/LLM training, and complex infrastructure tasks.
This full-time onsite role requires TS/SCI clearance (or eligibility), a STEM degree, and hands-on Kubernetes and Linux experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM disciplines required.
- 5+ years in building/delivering large-scale distributed software systems.
- 3+ years supporting a highly available enterprise environment.
- 2+ years hands-on managing Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with production on-premises and cloud Kubernetes services.
Responsibilities
- Developing and sustaining advanced services for Kubernetes-based PaaS (Coder workspaces, Kueue, Knative, Crossplane).
- Performing frequent security patching across Kubernetes layers to maintain high uptime.
- Owning and engineering production Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Collaborating with Kubernetes leads to resolve full-stack engineering issues.
- Ensuring real-time telemetry analysis from space launch partners.
- Providing after-hours support for Kubernetes infrastructure.
