Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to design and maintain Kubernetes-based PaaS platforms across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will collaborate with rocket scientists and engineers to ensure high availability, performance, and automation of critical workloads.

Ideal candidates bring extensive Kubernetes and Linux administration experience, strong scripting skills, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 8+ years delivering complex large-scale distributed software systems solutions.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience managing Kubernetes environments.
• Ownership of production Kubernetes services on‑prem and in cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Ability to identify and resolve engineering problems independently.
• Linux administration for enterprise environments.
• Strong networking and storage fundamentals.
• Experience with scripting/DevOps tools.
• Requires TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Developing and sustaining Kubernetes-based PaaS services.
• Manage production Kubernetes on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Perform security patching across Kubernetes layers with high uptime.
• Own and engineer production Kubernetes services.
• Resolve Kubernetes stack issues independently.
• Ensure real-time telemetry analysis for space systems.
• Provide after-hours support during launches.
• Support scientists and engineers running applications in Kubernetes.
• Provide Linux troubleshooting and expertise.
• Evaluate new products/technologies and automate operations.
