AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to design, deploy, and manage a Red Hat–based Kubernetes enclave. The role emphasizes secure configuration, lifecycle management, and collaboration with users on containerization best practices.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of Kubernetes deployment experience, a solid Linux background, and relevant certifications. A TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility is required, US citizenship mandated.

Qualifications

• Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
• U.S. Citizenship Required for security clearance.
• 2–3 years deploying and managing Kubernetes environments.
• No bachelor degree required; hands-on experience prioritized.
• KCNA Certification.
• Solid Linux background.
• CKA is highly desired but not required.
• Familiarity with Ansible, PostgreSQL, and scripting (BASH, Python, or Perl).
• CompTIA Linux+ and RHCSA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and administer Kubernetes environments.
• Configure deployments to meet STIGs and JSIG requirements.
• Manage Red Hat Linux systems in a development or scientific computing setting.
• Recommend and implement Kubernetes clusters and workload distribution.
• Assist users with containerization best practices for workloads.
• Deploy containerized workloads and related support systems on Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes performance and scaling issues.
• Develop example deployment packages and container build pipelines.
• Assist with software selection for Kubernetes workloads and artifact management.
