Job summary

Oak View Academy is recruiting a compassionate Key Stage Two Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role is permanent, part-time, term-time only, with hours from 08:30 to 15:30 Mon–Fri (30 min lunch), 32.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will support class teachers and pupils with additional needs, contribute to intervention programmes, and help maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment. An Enhanced DBS check is required, with a commitment to pupil wellbeing and inclusive

Qualifications

NVQ 3 or equivalent required.
GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or higher.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting is preferred.
Knowledge of attachment-aware and trauma-informed practice is desirable.
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Support class teachers, work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with additional needs.
Deliver intervention programmes to individuals and groups where needed.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote pupil wellbeing.
Assist with learning activities and maintain records of interventions and progress.
Support pastoral work and ELSA-informed approaches as required.
