Job summary

Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Cook to provide direct cooking and baking for residents, visitors and staff, adhering to Kosher traditions.

You will measure and assemble ingredients, prepare meals during dining hours, maintain inventories, store foods properly, rotate stock, restock for shifts and keep the kitchen clean and sanitised.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school or equivalent education.
• Training in institutional food preparation.
• Previous experience in large scale food preparation.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Prepare meals during our dining hours according to Kosher traditions.
• Maintain accurate food inventories.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
• Rotate stock items as per established procedures.
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
