Job summary

Mercor is seeking a native Korean speaker to annotate document pages for training data. You will identify and bound every meaningful region, assign types and reading order, and ensure faithful Hangul transcription.

The role requires precision with handwriting and complex layouts, including multi-column pages. You will review colleagues' work and flag unsuitable pages upfront to maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

• Native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work, or AI training data is preferred.
• Exact, character-level accuracy matters; attention to detail is essential.
• Systematic and consistent with taxonomy across pages.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts: multi-column documents, handwritten content.

Responsibilities

• Open and check a task: PDFs are provided; confirm page is Korean, legible, and contains real content.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region and assign a component type and a reading-order index.
• Record relationships: link each region to the figure or table it belongs to through a parent identifier.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce all text exactly in Hangul, flagging illegible regions as needed.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work: end-to-end review by a second Korean expert.
