Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking a Knowledge Engineer to build enterprise semantic models and knowledge graphs that enable trusted data and AI capabilities. You will partner with data teams to align definitions, metadata, and data relationships across domains.

You will influence data strategy, governance, and modern data platforms while collaborating with multiple business units to drive scalable semantic solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Knowledge Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years with semantic technologies, data modeling, knowledge representation, graph databases, and semantic web standards.
• 3+ years delivering enterprise data solutions with data architecture, engineering, governance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise semantic models, ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graph structures for consistent business meaning.
• Define and maintain enterprise concepts, metadata standards, and data relationships for governance and compliance.
• Align data from multiple systems by mapping technical data to shared business definitions.
• Partner with data architecture, engineering, governance, AI, and business teams to translate needs into scalable semantic solutions.
• Enable advanced data discovery and analytics using semantic frameworks, graph technologies, and knowledge modeling.
• Support AI-ready data capabilities by improving context, search, and knowledge-driven insights.
• Promote data consistency by advancing metadata, lineage, and governance practices across the organization.
