Job summary

HarborChase of Plano is seeking a Utility Associate to support the food and beverage team with dishwashing, trash control, and helping to maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will perform dish and pot washing, assist in food preparation as directed, stock and store supplies, and sanitize equipment according to schedules. A high school education is required; experience cooking for large groups and knowledge of food-handling and safety procedures are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education.
• Experience in cooking for large groups is a plus.
• Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and fire and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs dish and pot washing and general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room area
• Assist in ordering and storage of food and non-food products
• Sets up and maintains the pot and dish washing area
• Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes and utensils
• Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
• Empties trash containers as required
• Assists in the preparation of food as directed by supervisor
• Notify Dir. of Food and Beverage or any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen
• The ability to work in a safe and alert manner
• The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents
• Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently.
