Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is hiring at NBK Bangor - Warrior Eatery for a Food Service Worker role. The position supports CNIC MWR programs and serves service members, families, and civilian employees in a dining setting.

Responsibilities include setting up service counters, dishwashing, basic food prep, and handling cash register tasks as needed. The role requires physical stamina and adherence to food safety policies, including night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food handling techniques.
• Ability to follow oral directions and routine manual tasks.
• Understanding of personal hygiene standards such as wearing a hairnet and washing hands before touching food.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and material such as schedules, menus, and recipes.
• Ability to work safely by moving carts, stacking dishes, and wiping up spills to prevent falls.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Set up glasses, silverware, butter, condiments, salads, desserts, bread and cold beverages on serving counter as instructed.
• Removes soiled dishes from tables and transports them to the dishwasher.
• Cuts, scrapes, chops, dices and peels fruits and vegetables.
• May operate electric can opener, electric potato peeler, etc.
• Pre-rinses dishes with water to remove food particles before washing.
• Loads dishes in the dishwasher, stacks and stores dishes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
