Job summary

The Salvation Army in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Kitchen Associate to assist in meal prep, serve meals, and keep the kitchen clean and organized. This role supports volunteers and maintains food safety standards in a busy kitchen.

Hours are part-time (approx. 29 hours/week) with weekends to be determined; responsibilities include washing dishes, stocking supplies, and keeping floors and surfaces tidy while following health regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques.
• Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals.
• Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances.
• Ability to clean kitchen and dining area.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation and serving of meals; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes.
• Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors; cleans refrigerators and ovens.
• Stocks foods, beverages, and supplies in an orderly and safe manner.
• Assists in monitoring work of volunteers in the kitchen.
• Performs related work as required; adheres to health regulations.
