Pay Range: $19.00-$24.00

Position Summary

The Kitchen Supervisor oversees the culinary department, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and policies. Responsibilities include providing high-quality meals, maintaining dietary standards, supervising staff, managing food inventory, and ensuring food safety and quality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate food prep and meal service, meeting nutritional and dietary needs.
  • Supervise culinary staff and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and menu plans.
  • Monitor food temperatures for safety.
  • Inspect food products, manage deliveries, and store supplies properly.
  • Lead culinary team to ensure standards and safety are maintained.
  • Adhere to relevant regulations and facility policies.
  • Follow emergency protocols as required.
  • Support additional culinary duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ food service experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
  • Knowledge of quantity food prep, special diets, and portion control.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and diet orders.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours and in emergencies.
  • Patient, compassionate, and effective communicator.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and handle cleaning chemicals.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Additional education in quantity cooking or therapeutic diets is a plus.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (must be obtained within 90 days).

Physical Demands
