Job summary

MGM Resorts Yonkers is hiring a Kitchen Steward to maintain cleanliness of dining areas and to prepare for banquet events. You will operate dishwashing workflows, stock stations, and assist in daily kitchen upkeep.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of cleaning equipment, safe chemical usage, and sanitation regulations; flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays is required. Great team environment and benefits available.

Responsibilities

• Receive soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware; place items according to size and likeness on dishwasher conveyor belt.
• Remove washed dinnerware, flatware, and glassware; stack for future use and rewash if needed.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen floor; clean walls and trash cans; pick up trash in kitchen and loading dock area.
• Dismantle stove, oven, grill, and broiler; scrape items and clean; re-light ventilation units as required.
• Maintain written record of all equipment cleaned and those needing special attention.
• Keep assigned station stocked with china, silver, glasses, and condiments; refill containers; keep guest side clean.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining room, tables, chairs, counters, beverage dispensers; fill ice bins; disassemble/reassemble machinery for cleaning.
• Set up banquet function for guest use in assigned area throughout property.
• Notify supervisor and/or Security of unusual events, missing items, or disputes; inform manager on duty of guest concerns.
