Job summary

Oak View Group, Terre Haute Convention Center, seeks a Kitchen Steward to sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and the kitchen itself. Flexible schedule including nights and weekends; availability for events is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or Dishwasher is a plus.
• Clear, professional communication with staff and guests.
• Team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Working knowledge of sanitation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwashing machine, ensure water temp, soap and drying agents are connected and working.
• Maintain organization of dishware, small wares, pots, and pans in kitchen and storage areas.
• Clean food production areas in kitchen and warehouse, including walls and floors.
• Remove garbage and recyclables from the kitchen and deposit in the venue area.
• Clean kitchen equipment and reinstall disassembled items after cleaning.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of banquets.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
