Job summary

Great Circle Catering is seeking an experienced kitchen steward to join our culinary team in Portsmouth, NH. You will work in a busy, multi-faceted kitchen, handling dishwashing, stock rotation, and light prep to keep service running smoothly.

This role requires 3+ years of verifiable work experience, a reliable schedule, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a team. ServSafe certification or ability to obtain is preferred. We offer a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of verifiable work experience in related kitchen/food service roles.
• A good set of communication skills and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Work independently in the dish area, cleaning dishes and pans.
• Accept food orders and rotate stock properly.
• Assist chefs with light food prep.
• Work on various cleaning projects.
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and leadership.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and clients.

Great Circle Catering is a multifaceted catering company that cultivates teamwork, individuality, creativity, and education. We operate a diverse commissary kitchen that caters by land, air, and sea. Our team gets to be creative and produce a variety of food ranging from fine dining to large-scale production. We are seeking an experienced kitchen steward to join our culinary team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Work independently in the dish area, cleaning dishes and pans

? Accept food orders and put products away, making sure to rotate stock properly

? Help chefs with light food prep

? Work on various assigned cleaning projects

? Comply with all applicable sanitation regulations and safety standards

? Communicate effectively with teammates and GCC leadership

? Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and clients

? Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

? 3+ years of verifiable work experience

? Ability to follow instructions

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team

? Excellent interpersonal communication skills

? Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure

? Experience in large-scale production, preferred

? Ability to work a flexible schedule

? ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire

? Valid Driver’s License

? Reliable transportation

? Must pass a drug screen and background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

? Ability to lift 50+ lbs

? Ability to stand for long periods of time
