Job summary

Marriott Lexington Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa is seeking a diligent Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of china, glass, and silver. You will support kitchen staff by keeping storage areas tidy and ensuring proper food storage and rotation.

Responsibilities include operating dishwashing equipment, replacing clean tableware, washing pots and utensils, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining the back dock and dumpster area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel/related field preferred.
• Ability to convey information clearly.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations; maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation is maintained.
• Replace all clean china, glass and silver in proper storage locations with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedures for cleanliness and sanitation, storing them properly.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
