Job summary

DoubleTree Dallas Campbell Centre is seeking a Steward/Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass, and silver, and to support the kitchen team with sanitation and organization. You will operate dishwashing equipment, rotate and store items properly, and help keep the back-of-house areas and dumpsters clean, while remaining friendly and composed under pressure.

Experience in a hotel or foodservice setting is preferred, and strong communication and teamwork are valued to

Responsibilities

• Operate dish-washing equipment and ensure sanitation of china, glass, and silver.
• Return cleaned items to proper storage, minimizing breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils and store them properly.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Empty garbage from Food & Beverage areas to the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain back dock and dumpster area cleanliness.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward(Dishwasher) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Job Duties & Functions

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure that all china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such is maintained.
• Replace all clean china; glass and silver in its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedure for their cleanliness andsanitation, storing them in the proper location.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
