The Kitchen Staff Pantry Cook plays a key role in delivering high-quality food service by preparing food items accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This position is committed to maintaining the highest levels of food safety, sanitation, and professionalism to ensure exceptional product quality and a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, assemble, and cook pantry food items according to approved recipes, portion standards, production schedules, and presentation guidelines while ensuring consistency and efficiency during all shifts.
- Inspect all food products for freshness, quality, taste, texture, and appearance before service, ensuring every dish meets Company Standards, brand expectations, and guest satisfaction requirements.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations, including proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures, handwashing protocols, cross-contamination prevention, and safe storage practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Handle, store, rotate, and prepare food in accordance with established food safety standards, including utilizing sight, smell, and taste when appropriate to verify product quality and identify any ingredients that do not meet established standards.
- Work closely with cooks, chefs, servers, and other kitchen team members to coordinate food preparation, maintain workflow efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of food during service periods.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures, reporting shortages, and minimizing waste through proper portioning, storage, and utilization of ingredients.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude while interacting with guests, coworkers, supervisors, and management, providing support as needed to promote an exceptional guest experience and productive work environment.
- Set up, stock, and replenish pantry stations before, during, and after service to ensure all necessary ingredients, supplies, and equipment are readily available.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
- Participate in opening, closing, and deep-cleaning procedures, ensuring workstations, equipment, and storage areas remain organized and compliant with Company standards at all times.
- Uphold the company's drug-free, tobacco-free, and nicotine-free policies within the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of food preparation, pantry cook, line cook, or culinary experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, cafeteria, or similar food service environment preferred.
- Experience preparing food according to standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience following food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations preferred.
- Familiarity with food storage, inventory management, product rotation, and waste reduction practices.
- Customer service experience and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are preferred.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe as required by local regulations.
